New exhibit opening at Robert Frost Stone Museum late June
"Walking Project: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral"
SHAFTSBURY - Artist Judith Belzer’s exhibition “Walking Project: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral” will on view at the Robert Frost Stone House Museum, 121 Route 7A, from Thursday, June 25 through Saturday, October 31, 10 am to 4 pm. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 26, from 6 to 8 pm.
California-based artist Belzer walks to collect and curate found objects, both natural and human-made, laying them out on tabletop displays. These collections find the poetry that exists between combinations of objects. Robert Frost was an avid walker and often took what he called “botanizing walks” alone or with family and friends. One of these walks was the origin of perhaps Frost's best known poem, “The Road Not Taken.” Through the exhibition and programs, participants and viewers will experience the power of nature and observation to gain a deeper understanding of their own human experiences, the experiences of others, and tap into their creative potential.
