BEEC introduces program for individuals in recovery
BRATTLEBORO—Turning Point of Windham County (TPWC) announces the launch of a yearlong, nature-based wellness pilot program, in partnership with the Windham Foundation and the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center (BEEC). This initiative is designed to support individuals in recovery by integrating outdoor learning, environmental education, and wellness practices.
Beginning in February, participants will take part in monthly two-hour guided workshop sessions on BEEC’s campus, 1221 Bonnyvale Road. Each session combines hands-on outdoor skills or nature walks with opportunities for personal growth and peer recovery support. Activities such as fire building, plant identification, and trail stewardship will help participants cultivate resilience, strengthen community connections, and develop healthy lifestyle habits grounded in nature.
BEEC educators and TPWC peer recovery coaches will co-lead the sessions, ensuring that programming is both educational and connected in peer recovery. By moving recovery support into outdoor settings, the pilot aims to broaden access to wellness practices that promote long-term stability and healing.
