Make the most out of cat tracks

Sometimes catwalks, or cat tracks, smaller mountain connecting trails, feel monotonous. Other times they seem dangerous. Whether friendly and playful or narrow and intimidating many mountains possess these connecting trails. Crossing Stratton recently as I headed to meet my wife Cheryl at the mid-mountain lodge one skier waved me down to ask if there was an alternate route to the base. Clearly this young woman was hesitant as she looked at the cross trail. Certainly she is not alone!
