Author to speak at Bartleby’s
WILMINGTON - Author Rick Winston will be at Bartleby’s on Thursday, August 16, to discuss his book, “Red Scare in the Green Mountains.” The book focuses on how the so-called “Red Scare” of the mid-20th century manifested in Vermont. Among the topics explored in the book is the Higley Hill Camp, a summer camp for socialists’ children that operated on Higley Hill in Wilmington in the 1950s.
