Road construction came to a halt during a gravel shortage 35 years ago.
10 years ago:
Twin Valley School Board members presented their plan to build two new additions to Deerfield Valley Elementary School (since renamed Twin Valley Elementary School). The proposed construction would add six new classrooms, eliminate an aging portable classroom building, and add a new cafeteria, music room, and art room. The project also created traditional classrooms in the building and did away with the 1970s open classroom concept.
