10 years ago:
A little more than a year after Tropical Storm Irene, the Deerfield Valley braced for the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy. Residents were relieved when the storm came and went without any serious flooding in valley towns, though there was some damage from downed trees. But the storm wreaked havoc on Vermont’s coastal neighbors. The Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce urged local residents to support second-home owners, who stepped up to help with recovery efforts after Tropical Storm Irene, as they faced cleanup and recovery in their home states.
