Beware of scam callers targeting DISH Network customers

DEERFIELD VALLEY- Valley residents are warning of a telephone “phishing” scam targeting DISH Network subscribers.
At least two Deerfield Valley News readers have reported that they or family members have been contacted by callers posing as DISH Network representatives.  The fraudulent caller claimed the intended victim’s DISH Network urgently needed a software upgrade, which could be done over the phone or by a technician – for a fee.  The scammer’s goal is to get their intended victim’s credit card information.
