Busa, Cooper to have election rematch?
POWNAL- The Bennington-1 legislative district election appears to be headed back to voters, after an apparent mistake in the district’s boundary in Pownal was discovered, preventing more than 40 Pownal voters from casting ballots in the district.
The preliminary results of last week’s election indicated Democrat Jonathan Cooper, of Pownal, won the district in a close race, with 25 votes more then Republican candidate Bruce Busa, of Readsboro. At the time, Busa said he would consider whether to petition Bennington Superior Court for a recount.
