Feds grant $25.8 million for Readsboro bridge rebuild

By Mike Eldred
READSBORO- A state project to replace a crumbling bridge over the Deerfield River on Route 100 has received a rare boost from the federal government.
The US Department of Transportation, along with members of Vermont’s congressional delegation, recently announced a $25.8 million grant award for the replacement of bridge 25, located at the gateway to Readsboro Village.  The project was one of just 24 Rural Surface Transportation Grant Program awards made nationwide for 2025-26, and the only project funded in the northeastern US.
