First Afrikaners arrive in Deerfield Valley
Critics blast Trump’s changes to federal immigration priorities
DEERFIELD VALLEY—The first family of Afrikaners to be resettled in the Deerfield Valley through the United States Refugee Admissions Program arrived in December.
Their arrival comes amid a refusal by some advocates to help resettle Afrikaner refugees because of the Trump administration’s policy of prioritizing immigration by the white South African group while sharply restricting entry for other ethnic groups.
