HALIFAX- A controversy over Southern Valley Unified Union School District’s plan to consolidate the district’s seventh and eighth grade classes at Halifax School ended unexpectedly at Monday evening’s board meeting.
School board chair Chum Sumner started the discussion by noting there were several ways the board could change their previous vote to send the Readsboro middle school students to Halifax.
“We can vote to rescind that vote,” he said, “or we can make an amendment. Or we can just hold a new vote.”
