Halifax hashes over budget plans

HALIFAX - The Halifax Selectboard presented their proposed budget for fiscal year 2024 and discussed Town Meeting articles during their informational hearing on Tuesday evening.
The proposed selectboard and highway budget is at about $1.25 million, with just over $1 million to be raised by taxes. The budget is nearly $200,000 below the current year, board members said, however, it does not take into account the warned creation of seven reserve funds, four of which will be populated with funds that are not included as line items in the budget.
