Secretary of state's office conducts canvass of votes

MONTPELIER-  Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas kicked off the statutorily-required canvass of votes for federal and state elections on Tuesday, November 12, with a press conference.  
Copeland Hanza said the general election held on Tuesday, November 5, was marked by high voter turnout at 71%, and a secure and accurate election process.  “Vermonters came out in record numbers,” she said.  “We had 522,000 Vermonters registered to vote as of Election Day this year, and 372,885 Vermonters voted, topping the total participation in 2020 for a new record.”
