Southern Valley seeks advice on dissolution

HALIFAX- Southern Valley Union School Board is seeking the advice of an attorney specializing in education law to help them ensure the state board of education swiftly approves the dissolution of their union.
“We want to know if there’s a next step that we have to do,” said SVUSB chair Chum Sumner at the board’s regular meeting Wednesday evening.  “According to the statute, it doesn’t seem like we have a next step, but we don’t want to be sitting here for the next three years waiting for the AOE to do something while the AOE is waiting for us.”
