WHITINGHAM - The Whitingham Selectboard voted unanimously to hold Town Meeting Day only by  Australian ballot this year at a special meeting Wednesday, January 19. The board ruled out postponing Town Meeting in previous discussions.
Board members cited concern over the safety of residents, especially elderly residents, as a reason not to hold it in person. “I’m no scientist or doctor,” said board member Greg Brown, “but everything I’ve been listening to as of lately shows that, even with a booster, probably our elderly self-help folks won’t be completely protected.”
