Conn H. D. Rose

Conn Rose
Conn H. D. Rose, 70, of Wilmington, VT, died on July 3, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born on November 6, 1955, the son of Jane C. Johnson and Albert Rose in Syracuse, NY. He is survived by his two brothers, Charles Johnson of Denver, NC and Ralph Johnson of Wilmington; two nephews; two nieces; and his beloved Westie, Louie.
Conn was an active member of Wilmington and the surrounding communities, having worked at Grace Cottage Hospital for 22 years and volunteering with Deerfield Valley Rescue for 24 years. He also had a multitude of lawn care clients and was known as MowerMan.
Conn treasured his 36 years of sobriety as well as the friendships he nurtured along the way.
Conn’s love of motorcycle riding began in 2006. He would start the season with snow still on the ground and not end it until snow started falling again. His beloved companion, Louie, often rode with him, wearing his own helmet and vest.
Conn died doing what he loved, riding the open road.
A memorial service for Conn was held at Deerfield Valley Rescue on July 12.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Deerfield Valley Rescue, PO Box 854, Wilmington, VT, 05363; and Grace Cottage Hospital, PO Box 1, Townshend, VT, 05353, with “Conn Rose” written on the memo line.
