Summer rec program artwork on display at OSEC

Wilmington Recreation Commission’s middle school ’Summer Rec’ campers have been busy this year, with a variety of activities including arts.

The community is invited to enjoy the camper’s creations in the OSEC lobby and on the meeting room (old library) window.

Under the guidance of Angi Dornburgh, campers focused on the theme of community - what community means to them and where they see it.

Each camper created a transparency to represent community, and many adult members of the general community (including police, fire, teachers, pickleballers, organization directors, and more) contributed transparencies as well, and all were combined to create an imitation stained glass mosaic.

Other arts will include an exhibit of photographs taken by campers under the guidance of Aspen Willard, and snapshots of rec camp moments.

Art will be on display for the next few weeks. Come enjoy and appreciate the creativity and hard work of the area middle school youth.
