Share your talents at the museum

BRATTLEBORO- The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center invites children of all ages to share their creative talents with the world by taking part in three programs offered by the museum this fall.
There are no age limitations for the 11th annual LEGO Contest and Exhibit. Submissions of original LEGO structures must be delivered to the museum on Tuesday, November 6, from 4 to 6 pm. All submissions will be presented in an exhibit opening Thursday  November 8, at 5 pm, and remaining on view during regular museum hours through Sunday, November 11. Prizes for creativity and craftsmanship will be awarded in seven age groups, ranging from preschool to adult.
As the statewide affiliate for the prestigious national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the museum encourages aspiring Vermont artists and writers in grades seven to 12 to submit work for possible exhibition, publication, and scholarship opportunities. Submissions are due Thursday, December 13,  and will be judged by statewide experts in the fields of art and writing. Award-winning work will be exhibited at the museum from February 17 to March 10, 2019. Some submissions will receive further consideration for national awards.
A celebration of imagination and ingenuity, the biannual Glasstastic program invites children in grades kindergarten to six to dream up and draw fabulous imaginary creatures, a selection of which will be turned into glass sculptures by artists from throughout New England. The sculptures and every drawing that is submitted will be exhibited at the museum from March  to June 2019.
