Don’t allow disruption of our neighborhoods

I am writing to bring an urgent matter to the attention of our community regarding a proposed development that threatens the peace, safety, and environment of our neighborhood. The New England Region SCCA RallyCross Board of Directors has expressed intent to buy the property at 0 Saddada Road (Parcel 12-1060) to host off-road driving trials. While the organizers claim this will be a low-frequency, private event, the introduction of a racetrack into a quiet area sets a dangerous precedent that all residents should question.
Even a few weekend events per year will bring significant noise disruption, safety hazards, and dust pollution to adjacent properties. Furthermore, opening the door to motorized sports on an unimproved dirt course raises serious long-term concerns about soil erosion, environmental degradation, and the inevitable pressure to expand infrastructure in the future. Once a zoning variance or land use permits are granted for this type of activity, it becomes incredibly difficult for residents to control how often or how aggressively the land is utilized.
Our local neighborhoods should remain safe, quiet, and residential. I urge my fellow neighbors to look closely at this proposal, attend upcoming town meetings, and join me in asking our local zoning board and town officials to deny any applications for this project. We must protect the character of our community before the engines start running.
