Inaugural Wilmington, Whitingham, TV Hall of Fame nominees announced
The inaugural class of the newly-established Whitingham Wilmington Twin Valley Athletic Hall of Fame features two Olympic athletes, a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year, four all-time leading point scorers, and a historic team that won the region’s first high-school state championship. In all, 13 inductees are headed to the hall: eight individual athletes, three teams, a coach, and a contributor.
The new hall of fame has been created to honor the rich athletic history of Twin Valley Middle High School and its predecessor schools, Whitingham School and Wilmington High School. The hall of fame steering committee began meeting during the summer of 2026, with the inaugural class voted in by the committee members. According the hall’s bylaws, the annual class of inductees will include three individual athletes from the former Whitingham School, three from the former Wilmington High School, two athletes from Twin Valley Middle High School, a team from each school, one coach, and one contributor from any of the three schools. A permanent display will be housed at Twin Valley Middle High School following the inaugural class induction.
