MARLBORO- Safety and the future of Route 9 across southern Vermont were issues raised with state officials Friday morning, October 4, at the town meeting house. The crowd of approximately 40 members of the public; town officials from Wilmington, Dover, Brattleboro, and Marlboro; and legislators held a lively discussion with state transportation officials on a number of topics. They included concerns over accidents, planned work on the highway, increased traffic load, tractor-trailer noise, and the effects of the road on wildlife and the environment.
