Kevin Dana Wright

Kevin Wright

WILMINGTON—Kevin Dana Wright, 68, died at his home on Saturday, February 28.

After graduating from Cumberland High School, Kevin drove across country and eventually settled in Newport, RI as a chef. He recently retired after over three decades in nursing, a career he continued with dedication, kindness, and a gentle nature, even after surviving lung cancer.

He was an avid antique collector and dealer, spending many Sundays at his booth in the local flea market.

A lifelong skier, Kevin grew up on the slopes of Mount Snow and eventually made Wilmington his home in the early 1990s. Kevin loved music and took great joy in attending concerts and festivals, always bringing home a t-shirt to add to his growing collection. He would kayak through Newport harbor to see the Newport Jazz Festival and Folk Festival with his son. He loved gardening and fishing with his daughter.

He is survived by his two children, Max Wright and Lacey Rose Barre; the mother of his children, Becky Wright; his brothers, Michael and Jeffrey Wright; and their children.

A memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the local fire department in Wilmington, East Dover, West Dover, Whitingham, Readsboro, Halifax, or Brattleboro.
