Penny Dix

Penny Marlene Dix, 57, of Whitingham, died unexpectedly at her residence on December 7. She was born in North Adams, MA on March 9, 1968, the daughter of David J. Dix Jr. and Joyce Marie (Birch) Dix.

She is remembered as a social butterfly, and visiting family and friends was one of her favorite pastimes. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She loved gnomes and even started a gnome garden. She was known as “GiGi” to her granddaughter, Nevaeh, who was her whole world. Spending time with her brought Penny the greatest joy.

Penny is survived by her daughter, Lacey Dix and her fiancé, Travis Phillips; her granddaughter, Nevaeh Phillips; her brother, David Dix III, and his wife, Wanda Dix, of Whitingham; as well as her sister; Jody Berard, of Readsboro; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Danny Dix.

Calling hours took place at the Covey, Allen and Shea Funeral Home in Wilmington on December 15.
