BRATTLEBORO - An exhibit by Joan O’Beirne, “Detachments,” is on display at the Vermont Center for Photography (VCP) through Sunday, August 31. There will be an opening reception on  Friday, July 11, from 5 to 8 pm, and an artist talk on Sunday, August 10, at 5 pm. Local artist and educator O’Beirne uses acrylic gel lifts to transfer printed images onto new surfaces, creating delicate, translucent compositions that fold, wrinkle, and tear—turning imperfections into narrative elements.
