Wilmington’s development review board issued a permit for Sandri’s controversial Dunkin’ Donuts franchise at their East Main Street gas station. A number of Wilmington residents expressed concern about the town’s fast food franchise, citing adverse impacts on the town’s economy and locally owned businesses, wages, health, neighborhood aesthetics, traffic, and safety. The conditional use permit issued by the DRB included 43 conditions, most of which were in response to testimony by the applicants or interested parties.
