Film and Folklore festival to host movie premieres

The Vermont Film and Folklore Festival, being held from Thursday, November 5 through Sunday, November 8, serves Southern Vermont through a celebration of storytelling. Co-founded by Tim Rhys and Karol Martesko-Fenster, the festival unites cinema with traditional and contemporary storytelling to create an experience that resonates across generations.

Starting this year, the festival will be held in downtown Bennington and hosted by the Bennington Theater. There are three stages: the Main Stage and Underground Stages at 331 Main Street, and the Putnam Pop-Up Stage at 337 Main Street.

The program includes the Vermont premieres of “The Trial of Alec Baldwin,” on Thursday, and “Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie,” on Friday, as well as multiple showings of documentary short and feature-length films.

Tickets and the full festival schedule are available at benningtontheater.org/vermont-film-folklore-festival. For more information about Bennington Theater email Information@BenningtonTheater.org or call (802) 500-5500. The theater is wheelchair accessible.
