Child pedestrian struck in village
WILMINGTON- Police say a 5-year-old was not seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on West Main Street at about 1:10 pm on Sunday, August 31. Police responded to a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian. Their investigation indicated that a 5-year-old child suddenly ran away from an outside area along the south side of West Main Street, across the eastbound lane of travel, and into the westbound lane of travel where she was struck by a motor vehicle.
